2nd Meet, sweet

So,

We had a second meet today. It was Tahirah and Esther, who was lovely to meet finally! I was so impressed at their enthusiasm and ideas and glad for the York connection as well. Even better that they are back in school after the strike! We chatted about some ideas to capitalize on their York and personal connections which include some flyering and postering at York and a few announcements at some of their theatre classes.

I am so excited to have these two join our b teenz fold and they are bringing such a great energy and ideas to b current. I've invited them both to join rCurrentz and I hope they do.

I also hope that Tahirah will write a blog about her experience at the Obama inauguration!

Okay, that's it! Gotta get them to contribute, so it's not just me blogging.

b teenz, 1st meet

Today was the b teenz first meet at the b current office. Very low key as members Shane and Alia came and it was fab. It is always exciting to me to see one of my ideas actually come to life and I'm looking to working with this great group. We decided to start this blog so we could share whatever we liked and I hope to see this blog take off! I am not sure how things are going to shape up with b teenz and blogging and everything, but I love possibility....

Today, we just chatted. I talked a lot about b current and got some discussion going about how to get youth out to see shows. Alia expressed that often times she felt like she was the only one who wanted to see any shows and that youth will come to shows if it relates to them and seems accessible. Some great points that I will think about as we continue. We decided that the first thing we would do is get facebook going by adding our friends and that we would start this blog. Tada! here we are.

That's all I have to say for now, but I am looking forward to more meetings and more posting!
